The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.  ~St. Augustine

I travel not to go anywhere, but to go.  I travel for travel's sake.  The great affair is to move.  ~Robert Louis Stevenson

Why Travel?

The joy of travelling is hard to explain to those that don't. Travelling for us isn't about going somewhere just to say we've been there, it is not just to sit on a beach or at a five star resort and eat gourmet meals. I think that you gain a greater appreciation of the world and where you are from when you travel to other countries. The greatest thrill for us in travelling is discovering a little whole in the wall place that serves the best italian meal you have ever had in a back street of Prague, or stumbling upon a local festival in Chiang Mai. It is the interesting things you have seen and people you have met. We would encourage everyone to travel even though it is not always easy and not always fun in the end it is always rewarding.

We both love to travel and have been all over the world. We were lucky enough to live in Geneva, Switzerland for a couple of years and that enabled us to take many weekend trips all over Europe that aren't reflected in here but while in Geneva we were fortunate enough to spend time in Prague, London, Scotland, Paris, Provence, Tuscany, Rome, Florence, Munich, Barcelona and many other smaller places all over Switzerland and the rest of Europe.

Our future trips include doing a safari to Rwanda to see the mountain gorilla's and taking off one winter to do a backpacking trek through SE Asia.

Some of our Past Trips

Jordan, Syria, Lebanon - Sept/Oct 2001

This is a trip I (Stacy) took only a couple of weeks after 9/11. Needless to say everyone thought I was crazy to be going to the Middle East so soon after 9/11 but it was a truly amazing trip and the people I met along the way could not have been friendlier. The Syrian people are arguably the friendliest I have met in any country and it was nice to see these countries and their historical sights with so few other tourists around.

London, Venice - Oct 2002

The first trip Betsy and I took together. I had never been to London whereas she had lived there for a couple of years and this was her first trip back since moving back to California. Neither of us had been to Venice so we found a cheap flight from London and spent a week wandering the Canals.

Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore - Oct/Nov 2003

This was our honeymoon trip. Not many women would agree to go to Cambodia as part of their honeymoon but throw in some promises of spa's and beaches in Thailand and I had no trouble convincing her. This was probably our favorite trip and not just because it was our honeymoon but the combination of food, culture and sights made this a wonderful trip and a must-return destination.

London - Cotswolds, Southern Spain - April 2008

Primarily a trip to a friend's wedding in the Cotswolds, we decided to tack on an 8 day trip to Seville, Cordoba, and Granada in Southern Spain.
